General Performance of Windows and Doors

Our WinMark General Performance schemes help to provide the assurance that any window and door manufactured meets the guidelines of the relevant British Standards.

The WinMark Scheme for the General Performance of Windows & Doors is an entry level certification scheme covering products manufactured to British Standards for most of the common material types.

WinMark General Performance certification certifies products for the material specific product standard, and is the first step for manufacturers who would like to achieve certification in the WinMark Enhanced Security scheme.

Timber windows to BS 644

PVC-U windows to BS 7412

Aluminium windows to BS 4873

Composite material windows BS 8529

All the above types of products must pass initial type testing to:

BS 6375-1: Weathertightness Testing

BS 6375-2: Operation and Strength Testing

WinMark certification involves initial type testing and factory production control audits. Maintaining certification involves periodic audit testing and factory production control audits. This enables us to assess how your products are fabricated and quality control checked on both an initial and ongoing basis.
